Dr. Riad Almasri (Voiceover):
After my general dentistry training, I decided I wanted to do something more—I wanted to become a prosthodontist. So, I enrolled in a three-year residency program at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, one of the top programs in the country for surgical and prosthetic training.
I loved that program so much that I decided to go back and teach there. Now, every month or two, I spend a day with the residents—guiding them, holding their hands through dental implant surgeries. It’s incredibly rewarding.
Why did I decide to become a prosthodontist? Well, it came from a few different things. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to be a doctor. But I also loved working with my hands. Prosthodontics is very hands-on—building, crafting, and designing. I’ve always been fascinated by engineering too, so this path allows me to be an engineer, a doctor, and a caregiver all at once.
And the most joyful part of it all? It’s when we deliver those beautiful new teeth to our patients. That moment—it’s filled with emotions. Patients cry, family members cry—happy tears. The entire office lights up with joy.
Then, when I go home to my wife and kids, I leave behind the hard work and bring home only the memory of what we’ve accomplished—the lives we’ve changed and the new chapters we’ve helped begin.
